MY STORY...
When asked about the origins of her artistic passion, Dawn Rundle speaks fondly of her childhood and the creative influences of her family. Growing up on a farm in Derby, Kansas, Dawn‘s mother, Mary Kay, frequently drew pictures of Dawn and her older brother, Bernie, when they were young – a favorite childhood memory. In 1995, Dawn's older brother, Bernie, was killed in a car accident and her passion to live for him began through art. From that moment, Dawn decided she was going to achieve great things in art.

Dawn graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelors of Fine Art. After graduation she moved to Chicago, married her best friend Keith Rundle and had three beautiful children: Kayla, Karissa and Bryce. Over the years she developed her artist challenges through faux finishes in residential and commercial settings including high-end wall murals. Building up a very successful nationally known faux and mural business she decided to transfer it to the Phoenix area in 2005. She hasn't looked back at the cold climates and continues to reside in the much desired community Anthem.

In 2011, Dawn decided to make a change in her own art world. Getting rid of ladders and scaffolding for an art studio in her home. Still working proficiently in acrylic and oil mediums she continually works to create unique pieces that she enjoys to paint and people enjoy looking at. Her styles can range from classic landscapes to contemporary abstracts and portraits. "Art is not what you see but what you make other's see", by Edgar Degas is Dawn's focus on her abstract pieces she is currently working on.

As you can see from her gallery of work, Dawn has a wide range of styles, maybe that is what her true gift to the world is constantly creating something different- thinking outside of the box. One thing that is consistent is the vibrant colors she applies to the canvas. "The more color the better!"

"I love how people see different things within my art. I have been told my art seems to have a "soul". Everyone sees something different and that is what drives me to continue painting abstracts.

"I think I have finally found myself as an artist in abstracts, for now":)
